Portrait (twelves)

This work is portrait of a couple who differ in age by 12 years.  I embroidered twelve lists of twelve onto their existing household linens and then put them back into their usual places in the house. The lists are:

a dozen eggs
a dozen donuts
a dozen roses
the hours of the day
the months of the year
the twelve apostles and the 12 minor prophets
the pence in a shilling
the inches in a foot
the notes in the twelve-tone scale
the zeros in a trillion
the twelve days of Christmas
boxcars/ two sixes in a roll of dice
